The purpose of the visit was to examine the realization of the right to adequate housing in the United Kingdom in light of international human rights standards. The Special Rapporteur explores the combination of housing, land and planning policies with housing benefits in the welfare system that have been central to the provision of adequate housing. She raises concerns about the erosion in recent years of these policies and its impact on specific population groups.
